MAX6369KA/V+ (MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS)

The MAX6369KA/V+ is a pin selectable watchdog timer in 8 pin SOT-23 package. It supervises microprocessor (µP) activity and signal when a system is operating improperly. During normal operation, the microprocessor should repeatedly toggle watchdog input (WDI) before selected watchdog timeout period elapses to demonstrate that system is processing code properly. If µP does not provide a valid watchdog input transition before the timeout period expires, the supervisor asserts a watchdog (active-low WDO) output to signal that the system is not executing desired instructions within expected time frame. The watchdog output pulse can be used to reset µP or interrupt the system to warn of processing errors. This flexible watchdog timer supervisor can increase system reliability through notification of code execution errors. Typical applications include embedded control systems, critical µP and microcontroller (µC) monitoring, telecommunications and networking.
