MA180018 is a processor PIM that includes a 80 pin PIC18F85J11 MCU sample. The PIC18F85J11 PIM is an accessory to the PICDEM PIC18 Explorer Demonstration Board that allows users to easily experiment with the PIC18F85J11 device on the demonstration board. The PIM takes the place of the on board PIC18F8722 device. It changes the output of the voltage regulator on the board to the proper voltage level for these parts. This enables users to quickly evaluate the new PIC18FJ Flash devices without having to buy a completely new demonstration board. Processor Plug-In Modules are small circuit boards to be used with the various Development Boards to evaluate various MCU families. These plug into the main processor socket of the Development Boards so that different microcontrollers can be used for prototyping, demonstration or development quickly and easily.
