The SN65HVD233DG4 is a CAN (Controller Area Network) transceiver with standby and loopback mode in 8 pin SOIC package. This CAN transceiver is used in applications employing CAN serial communication physical layer in accordance with the ISO 11898-2 standard. The SN65HVD233 provides transmit and receive capability between differential CAN bus and CAN controller with signalling rates up to 1Mbps. The SN65HVD233 features cross wire protection, overvoltage protection up to ±36V, loss of ground protection, overtemperature (thermal shutdown) protection and common mode transient protection of ±100V. The device operates over a wide -7V to 12V common mode range. The SN65HVD233 enter a low current standby mode during which the driver is switched off and receiver remains active if a high logic level is applied to the RS pin. A logic high on loopback (LBK) pin (pin 5) of SN65HVD233 places bus output and bus input in a high impedance state.
