The 572019-00100-70 is an EMI filtered wave-metal D-sub Gasket adjustable for irregularities in the mounting surface to maintain electromagnetic compatibility of D-subminiature connectors by providing improved grounding. This gasket is normally 0.03-inch thick uncompressed, 0.005-inch compressed. Proper mounting of an EMI filter is critical to achieving optimum filtering performance. For applications requiring very high attenuation, it is necessary to fill the gaps at the mounting surface-to-connector interface. The length of any gap must be short, relative to the wavelength of the signal to be attenuated. Spectrum control supplies a line of "waved" gasket. The design of this wave gasket ensures the maximum "gap length" will not exceed the wave pitch, 0.2-inch even on surfaces with poor flatness. This ensures maximum filter performance to 1GHz and beyond.
